Checked 20 October 2026 against the Income-tax Act 2025 (sections 17, 19, 156, 202 and 516), the Budget 2026 papers, EPFO notification S.O. 5109(E) and state professional tax schedules. How we check.

Assumes one employer for the whole year, no ESI (salary above ₹21,000 a month), no benefits in kind and no other income. Monthly figures are the yearly amounts divided by 12. Why in-hand is less than CTC.

These figures are estimates based on the information you entered and the rules for tax year 2026-27 under the Income-tax Act 2025 as it stands after Budget 2026, EPFO notifications and state professional tax schedules. They are general information, not tax, financial or legal advice. Your actual in-hand salary can differ, for example because of your company's salary structure, variable pay, PF rules, your regime choice, TDS timing or your state. Check your payslip, or ask your payroll team or a chartered accountant, before relying on these figures.

    Your CTC, line by line

A CTC is what your employer spends on you, not what you are paid. Employer PF and gratuity sit inside it, then your own PF, professional tax and income tax come out of the salary that is left. The payslip above shows each line and how it is worked out, so you can check it against your offer letter.

    What this calculator assumes

Basic pay is 50% of CTC, house rent allowance is 50% of basic in a metro, and PF is 12% of basic from you and from your employer. Gratuity at 4.81% of basic sits inside the CTC. Change any of these under "Salary structure and PF".

The PF wage ceiling rose from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 a month on 17 September 2026 (Ministry of Labour and Employment notification S.O. 5109(E) of 17 September 2026), which matters if your employer works PF out on the ceiling.
