Does not model benefits in kind, two jobs or directors' National Insurance. Monthly figures are the yearly amounts divided by 12. Payslips can differ by a few pounds a year.

These figures are estimates based on the information you entered and the 2026/27 rates and thresholds published by HMRC (and, for Scottish taxpayers, the Scottish Parliament). They are general information, not tax, financial or legal advice. Your actual take-home pay can differ, for example because of your tax code, pension arrangements, benefits, student loan plan or payroll timing. Check your payslip, or ask your employer or HMRC, before relying on these figures.

England, Wales and Northern Ireland, tax code 1257L, no student loan or pension. Take-home is the yearly figure divided by 52. National Insurance is shown as a weekly payroll works it out, on the weekly thresholds, so it can differ by a few pence from the National Insurance inside the yearly take-home figure.

Weekly pay × 52 is your yearly pay

The calculator turns weekly pay into a year (× 52), works out income tax, National Insurance and any student loan on the year, and divides by 52. On a weekly payroll you start paying National Insurance above £242 a week and income tax above about £242 a week on the 1257L code.
